Laser Acupuncture Lowers Heart Rate – New Proof

To contact us Click HERE
Laser Acupuncture OnlineLaser AcupunctureNew research reveals that ultra-low-level violet laser stimulation of acupuncture point Du-20 (Baihui) changes the heart rate. A 405nm wavelength laser beam at an output power of 1mW (continuous mode) was directed at Du-20 (Baihui, GV-20) on laboratory rats. There was an acute on/off effect when activating the laser beam. When on, the laser beam significantly lowered the heart rate. Results were measured by electrocardiograms using an HRV Medilog AR12 system. The acupuncture point Du-20 was located “at the continuation of the line connecting the highest points of the ear, on the median line of the head.”
The researchers note that laser acupuncture “can modulate physiological and neurovegetative parameters after stimulating the Baihui acupuncture point” and that there was a “clear on/off-effect when the laser was activated/deactivated.” Given the controlled predictability of laser acupuncture stimulation on bodily function, the researchers from the Medical University of Graz, Austria and the Institute of Acupuncture and Moxibustion at the China Academy of Chinese Medical Sciences conclude that low-level laser acupuncture can be used in clinical studies.

Ear Acupuncture Benefits The Heart – New Research

Researchers have discovered that auricular acupuncture benefits the heart by increasing heart rate variability (HRV). HRV is the body’s ability to regulate the time interval between heart beats and is an index of the body’s ability to maintain control of the heart beat rate andAcupuncture CEU OnlineEar Acupuncture rhythm through vagus nerve activity. A lowering of HRV is found in unhealthy and highly stressed individuals. Acupuncture’s ability to raise HRV is of importance because reduced HRV is linked to mortality after myocardial infarction, congestive heart failure, diabetic neuropathy and low survival rates in premature babies. A reduction of HRV is also common in patients with PTSD (post-traumatic stress syndrome) and for individuals with increased heart rates due to stress.
Acupuncture’s ability to raise HRV was measured using electrocardiograms (ECGs) and an HRV Mediolog AR12 system. The evidence-based research concludes that “HRV changes significantly during auricular acupuncture…” and that “HRV total increases during auricular acupuncture….” The research team, based in China and Austria, measured significant increases in HRV when needling Ear-Shenmen (earpoint: Heart). Ear-Shenmen is located on the external ear at the bifurcating point between the superior and inferior antihelix crus at the lateral third of the triangular fossa. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), Ear-Shenmen is used for sedation, relaxing the mind, pain relief and clearing the heart.
Researchers from the International Society for Autonomic Neuroscience discovered similar results last year. They measured that needling acupuncture point CV17 increases HRV. They concluded that acupuncture at CV17 “causes the modulation of cardiac autonomic function.” The research measured the mechanism by which acupuncture at CV17 is able to activate the autonomic nervous system to control the heart rate by increasing vagal activity.

What causes endometriosis to develop into cancer?
Best answer:
Hi Leah. Sorry to read about your aunt and your mum. I hope they are doing better now.
I am a nurse and a fellow, longtime sufferer of endometriosis. Many things contribute to whether or not someone gets cancer, this could include (but isn't limited to): genetics, smoking/alcohol/drug consumption, amount of exposure to sunlight, dietary habits, etc (the list is long). Cancers and tumours that spread have certain characteristics as well. For example a tumour/s has an excellent blood supply, which it can create itself. Cancerous cells can easily break off and travel through the blood stream or lymphatic system. Some cancers run in families and occur in the same places (I once knew a nurse who said most of her family had suffered from lip melanomas or had died from them). Tumours can also grow extremely fast, others are slow growing. There is no rule of thumb saying someone will/will not get cancer, although some people have more risk factors, ie: smoking cigarettes for 30 years will put you at more risk for lung diseases/disorders and lung cancer.
If endometriosis is controlled, it probably will not evolve into cancer. However if left unchecked, the cells migrate to other parts of the body and could evolve into cancer (endometrial cells are highly migratory). I even read of a case in a nursing journal where a woman had bleeding from her ear every month, and it turned out she had endometrial cells in her ear which were bleeding when she menstruated!
The percentage of getting endometrial cancer from having endometriosis is anywhere from 40 - 70%. But nobody can give you absolute statistical numbers - they would probably frighten you anyway. For instance, just because you have endometriosis doesn't mean you WILL get endometrial cancer. Nobody can say if someone will or will not get cancer. Some people seem more predisposed to cancers than others, even when they lead a healthy lifestyle and have no or minimal risk factors (for reasons still largely unknown).
Getting cancer also depends upon your lifestyle. Your best bet is to control heavy bleeding (oral contraceptives can do this), eat healthy, don't smoke, cut down (or cut out) caffeine, limit alcohol, etc (you know the drill). Also control stress, like do yoga, pilates, exercise 3 x a week and don't get overly upset about things.
Worrying about whether or not you get cancer is fruitless. If you do get it, you can deal with it then. BUT MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: have regular pap smears - and for all you so called 'medical' buffs out there with no health degree - no, pap smears DO NOT detect endometrial cancer, but changes in the cell/tissue structure (this is one way to catch abnormalities or cancer/s early). Only laparoscopies and a biopsy/ies can detect endometrial cells or cancer. For any severe abdominal pain, unexplained, persistent bleeding, abnormal/unusual bloating, persistent nausea and/or vomiting, referred back or flank pain (any symptom or any pain unusual for you, or which you are worried about), see a Dr ASAP or attend your nearest emergency department immediately. Also most cancers have excellent treatment nowadays, so don't worry too much. Get out there and enjoy life as you are only 24!
Good luck.

What r the household treatment methods for uterine prolapse?
Best answer:
take 2 or 3 pillow place your leg on the pillow while sleeping (descending).like this /.do some slow excersice for hip.

is a heart murmer and mitral valve prolapse the same thing and what methods of treatment exist if severe?
Best answer:
These are not the same.
A murmur signifies a sound from the heart which often indicates a heart disease.Murmur sometimes in healthy individuals too, then it is called an innocent murmur.
A mitral valve prolapse will produce a murmur. If the prolapse is severe, then only effective treatment would be surgery.A heart murmur may exist for a variety of reasons. Mitral valve prolapse is only one possible cause of a heart murmer.

Mitral valve prolapse (MVP) is a common heart disorder. It occurs when the valve between your heart's left upper chamber (left atrium) and the left lower chamber (left ventricle) doesn't close properly. When the left ventricle contracts, the valve's leaflets bulge (prolapse) upward or back into the atrium. Mitral valve prolapse sometimes leads to blood leaking backward into the left atrium, a condition called mitral valve regurgitation.

The abnormal sound made by the blood leaking back into the left atrium (the regurgitation) is referred to as a "murmur".

Mitral valve prolapse affects slightly more than 2 percent of adults in the United States. Men and women appear to develop MVP in similar numbers.

In most people, mitral valve prolapse is harmless and doesn't require treatment or changes in lifestyle. It also doesn't shorten your life expectancy. In some people with mitral valve prolapse, however, the progression of the disease requires treatment.

Treatments and drugs:
Most people with mitral valve prolapse, particularly people without symptoms, don't require treatment.

If you develop symptoms, your doctor might prescribe certain medications to treat MVP-related chest pain, heart rhythm abnormalities or other complications. Some medications you might be prescribed include:

(1) Beta blockers. These drugs help prevent irregular heartbeats. They work by blocking the effects of the hormone epinephrine, also known as adrenaline. As a result, the heart beats more slowly and with less force, thereby reducing blood pressure. Beta blockers also help blood vessels relax and open up to improve blood flow.

(2) Aspirin. If you have mitral valve prolapse and have a history of strokes, your doctor might prescribe aspirin to reduce the risk of blood clots.

(3) Prescription anticoagulants (blood thinners). These medications — warfarin (Coumadin) is commonly used — prevent your blood from clotting. If you have atrial fibrillation, a history of heart failure or a history of strokes, your doctor may suggest these drugs. They must be taken exactly as prescribed.

Surgical treatment for mitral valve prolapse:
Though most people with mitral valve prolapse don't need surgery, your doctor may suggest surgery if you have severe mitral valve regurgitation with or without symptoms. The risk of severe mitral regurgitation is enlargement of your heart's main pumping chamber (the left ventricle). This can eventually weaken your heart, preventing it from effectively pumping blood. If regurgitation goes on too long your heart may be too weak for surgery.

Surgery may consist of either traditional (open heart) surgery or non-invasive surgical procedures. The type of surgical Mitral valve repair must be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
