Hey, i feel you. My dad died of cancer exactly a year ago. Try to keep your hopes up. If he is on stage 4, it's a very little chance he will stay alive. When we found out about my dad's cancer he was already stage 4. Tell him to keep fighting for his life and never give up. I hope this helps. God bless you all.All I can say is to enjoy all the time you have together.My dad was 76 when he took ill and taken to hospital for tests, bowel cancer was found and they tried to remove the tumour but were unsuccessful, soon after he started being sick and his kidneys started to fail and he was in terrible pain, he was in hospital and on morphine and slept most of the time, he also had a bad heart, he was hallucinating and when he could talk he was talking utter rubbish. From his cancer diagnosis till he died was only 6 weeks. You wont have much time left with your grandfather because now that his kidneys are not working it affects all the organs in his body and they will all fail very soon, sorry to be so brutal but you have to face the fact that you do not have much time left with him but he will be going to a place where he will be pain free and looking over you. my grandpa died of cancer your lucky he made it to 89 but i think if i was in his situation i would rather a few good months without treatement and maybe just pain killer than to go through radiation for something thats incurable its a sad situation but the best thing is to try to enjoy his company cause your gonna miss him
