How soon can i recover after a surgery via the abdomen to remove an uterine fibroid?
Best answer:
I was fine in several weeks,, no moving heavy furniture or heavy lifting and refrain from sexual intercourse until doctor gives the ok.It depends what kind of surgery you are having. Open surgery, in which a large incision is made, generally take the longest from which to recover. Laparoscopic (minimally invasive surgery) only requires 4 or 5 tiny (1-2 cm) incisions, so the recovery time is much less. There is an amazing robotic-assisted surgery for this called da Vinci Myomectomy. Patients are often up and about within 24 hours. There is generally much less pain, and hardly any scarring. You should definitely do your research and find out if you are a candidate for robotic myomectomy (the term for surgical fibroid removal). Good luck to you!

Is it advisable to have fibroid removal by surgery twice within 7 years?
Best answer:
Only if her gynocologist believes the fibroid(s) has regrown and is the cause of her infertility.

You can concieve, complete a pregnancy, and deliver with fibroids, although their size and placement may dictate a Caesarian.Of course it's advisable, if she has fibroids! If left unchecked, fibroids can grow pretty large, bur they're not cancerous. I had one the size of an apple removed once. And yes, if she's trying to get pregnant and has a fibroid tumor, it needs to come out. It needs to come out in any case, probably.
